The Albany Chaine has scheduled a dine-around for 6 pm Thursday, June 5th at Restaurant 605, located at 605 New Scotland Avenue, across the street from St. Peters Hospital. The restaurant is locally owned and operated by Chef Gabe Moya, his mother Susan Moya and the Chef’s girlfriend, Cory. Although known for its incredible Smashburger, the Chef offers intriguing daily specials as well, so if you are a more adventurous eater, you will more than likely find a dish to satisfy your palate. For those unfamiliar with dine-arounds, the concept is simple. You call the restaurant at (518) 818 0000 and make your reservation for 6 pm. Remember to identify yourself as a Chaine member or guest. You order off the menu and pay your own bill. If you want a glass of wine or cocktail, show up a little early and have a drink at the bar. Dress is informal, but members should wear their ribbons. After you have reserved, shoot me an email so that I can have an accurate count.

Late last week I learned that the talented chef at Ember & Cork would no longer be able to host our dinner scheduled for June 29th. I called Maitre Rotisseur AJ Richards and he has agreed to stage a dinner at [farmacy] his restaurant in Glens Falls on June 29th, the date scheduled for Ember & Cork. AJ’s culinary reputation precedes him as he has hosted several very successful dinners for us. He is a creative chef with an upbeat personality and a deft hand in the tiny kitchen that somehow produces awe inspiring dishes. The restaurant is on the small side, so after the invitation letter comes out, you would be wise to respond promptly.
